I just came back from a photo excursion in the Catskill Mountains in NY. Wow, it’s been a long time since I’ve been in the Catskills. Don’t get me wrong, this was nowhere near the borscht belt.
We stayed at a great house, right on a waterfall in Round Top, NY. We had a group leader that took us to waterfalls, lakes, old hotels that are falling down, and red barns. What a great weekend with some awesome images. The food was great, the people were great, the sites were great, the weather was cold but cooperative, and our guide Denise was outstanding. We did a lot of walking (no-I should say hiking) up and down to the falls.
My wife came with me and she even had a good time taking photos (and she took some really great images.) The only disappointment was the fall color was mostly gone (but not completely.) All in all, a wonderful fall weekend. I’ll be editing the 26 GB of images for quite a while. Now it’s off to a hot bath.
Great shots – looking forward to seeing the rest! Just read your ‘about’ section, understand the realities of those things but i’m glad you’re chasing the dream now 🙂 Cheers, Leah

It was great meeting you both and I’m glad you had a positive experience. I’d say the foliage was just about right for that area — perhaps a little past peak in the high elevations and not quite peak in the lower as there was still plenty of green. At first glance through my images I am happy and will also be busy processing and posting in the coming week. What I see of your images so far is fantastic and I look forward to seeing more!
